ABOUT THE ARTIST

"In my portrait paintings and figure sculpture I always aim to capture the engergy, likeness and particularly the presence of my subjects; whether they be human or animal.

Soft pastel is my medium of choice for painting portraits. I am extremely attracted to the immediacy and versatility of the pigment sticks. When used with different surfaces, and in conjunction with water based media, pastel is a very exciting and amazingly expressive medium.

In printmaking, my concern lies more with the transference of ideas, concepts and momentary glimpses of time. I am, and probably always will be, exploring the myriad of processes that printmaking has to offer."

Tricia Reichert obtained her formal teaching credentials from Battersea College, University of London.

After an early teaching career at various High Schools in the UK Tricia relocated to the USA with her family. In this country Tricia developed her true passion for art and for the past nineteen years has studied and practiced drawing and painting in a variety of media.  Over time, she has become a specialist in the theory and process of portraiture, particularly in the medium of Pastel.

Her other areas of expertise and interest include many forms of Printmaking and Clay Figure Sculpture. She is currently a professional, commissioned, portrait artist with paintings in private collections in the US and Europe.

Tricia is also an art teacher working with groups and individuals on a wide range of classes and workshops, both privately and as part of Cal Poly's Continuing Education division. Contact for more information.
